The epicenter was located near Woodford, St. Andrew in the Wagwater Trough North sub-area with a magnitude of 3.5 and a focal depth of 17.2km.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br> The ODPEM implores all Jamaicans to take the following precautions should an earthquake\u00a0<br> occur because of how well you survive an earthquake depends on how prepared you are for one:\u00a0<br> <br> What to do before an earthquake:\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Always have on hand emergency kits.\u00a0<\/li><li>Practice earthquake drills at schools, homes, and offices.\u00a0<\/li><li>Look around your school, home and offices for things that could fall and injure you.\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What to do during an earthquake:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Be calm. If you are inside, stay there.&nbsp;<br>\nGet under heavy furniture such as a sturdy desk or table.<\/li><li>Do not rush to exits.&nbsp;<\/li><li>If you are outside, stay there.&nbsp;&nbsp;\nAvoid the hazards, which could cause injury.&nbsp;<br>\nIf you are in a vehicle, drive away from bridges and stop in the safest place\npossible.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What to do after an earthquake:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Evacuate the building immediately after the shaking stops. Be prepared for additional aftershocks.\u00a0<\/li><li>Listen to the radio and follow emergency instructions.\u00a0<\/li><li>Remember, earthquakes cannot be predicted therefore our vulnerability to earthquakes is always imminent.
